Carlton Male Voice Choir “Weekend in Worcester” slide show June 2014

The Choir went on a Weekend trip to Worcester at the invitation of the organisers of the Basil D’olivera Foundation.  On Saturday a concert was held in the Huntingdon Hall in Worcester, then on Sunday the Choir were privileged to be able to sing in the magnificent Worcester Cathedral.  The photograph barely shows the magnificence of this beautiful  church.  A good selection of appropriate songs were chosen by Terry Moore the Choir’s Musical Director, numbers such as Benedictus, Mansions of the Lord, Let there be light, there is no death, In Flanders Field and quite a few others.  The Choir’s 2013 Carlton Music Maker Trophy winner, Laura Roberts, thrilled the audience with a variety of solo numbers and sang with the Choir in Nun’s Chorus and You’ll never Walk Alone.  Laura has a tremendous range in her voice which was quite evident in the numbers she chose to sing.

This was a lovely and enjoyable weekend, it is a pity that we only took a reduced Choir of 57  with us, but the balance and singing was very good.
