Gedling Civic reception for the Choir – 4 March 2013

The Choir were pleased to be invited to a Civic Reception last night. The invitation was from the Mayor of Gedling, Councillor Mrs Sandra Barnes.  Cllr Peter Barnes was also at the function along with the Mayor elect Cllr. Mr Bob Collis and Mrs Collis.  The Mayor welcomed all those present, including 45 of the Choir’s members, a good representation of the Choir’s Ladies Support Group – LSG, and many of the Choir member’s wives.  The mayor spoke of the amount of good work that the Choir has done in the local community and around the Gedling area over many years.  This has also resulted in the raising of funds for many local and national charities.  In response Rick Morrish the Choir Chairman, thanked Gedling Council for their support to the Choir over the years, support which has always been very much appreciated.  It is hoped that this relationship between Gedling Council and Carlton Male Voice Choir may continue over many years to come.  The Chairman gave to the Mayor and to her husband Peter one of the Choir’s new lapel badges each as a sign of our friendship.

It was an event that was enjoyed by all those present:
