The Choir’s Annual Festival Concert for 2011 took place on Saturday 16th April and it was a tremendous success.

By popular request, the committee brought back the hugely entertaining “Graffiti Classics”, a stringed quartet who were with us last in 2002. They were a great hit then and were just as good on this return visit.

The winner of the Carlton Trophy, which is awarded to the student at Bilborough College Nottingham who is deemed to have made the most progress within the year, was a young Mezzo soprano Bethany Peace.  As well as singing three numbers of her own choice, Bethany joined the Choir in their rendition of  ’Nun’s Chorus’.

With 81 singers on stage the Choir was in good voice singing an assortment of numbers ranging from ‘The Teddy Bears’ Picnic’ and a ‘Medley on Sea Shanties’ to  ’Angels’ and a selection from ‘Les Miserables’;  from ‘Chattanooga Choo Choo’ to Cwm Rhondda’.
