With our Festival Concert 2015 starting to dim in our memories already, here are some comments we received from our audience members via letter, email, and social media:

Festival Concert, Albert Hall, Saturday 25th April 2015

Please accept my apologies for taking so long to write to thank you for inviting me to your wonderful concert, attending on behalf of Sir John Peace. Barry and I were absolutely thrilled with the lovely evening of music making.

The Choir was on great form and the programme of music was most enjoyable and entertaining. I was very impressed with this year’s Carlton Music Maker, Matt Glendening, who made an excellent contribution to the enjoyment of the evening and the icing on the cake was the presence of the superlative Cantamus Girls Choir. The concerted items at the end of the programme were truly inspirational.

Please can you pass on my warm congratulations to Terry and the gentlemen of the choir, to Roger and Ann for their accompanying and Howard for his excellent compering.

Thank you again for your invitation, your hospitality and a memorable evening!

Wendy Start ,  Deputy Lord Lieutenant of Nottinghamshire

Congratulations on a fantastic performance once again at the Albert Hall. We thoroughly enjoyed the programme and the choir did you proud. The bonus of Cantamus and their lovely voices really made the evening special and we especially enjoyed the performance by the joint choirs at the end of the programme. The inspiring performance by the truly talented Clarinettist Matt Glendening was superb. Thank you once again for a truly wonderful evening. Kind regards.

Congratulations on a first class concert last night. We always enjoy them and I’m not sure if it was the choice of programme or what but I thought last night’s was the best I’d ever heard the choir sing. I’ve never heard anything from The Pearl Fishers before, except the duet about the Goddess, and was under the impression that everything else was boring but I really enjoyed that item. Once again congratulations and roll on Christmas.

A brilliant concert. Well worth coming from Hartlepool once again. The performances from both Carlton MVC and Cantamus were superb. Must rate among your best ever Festival concerts.  …

Wally Henderson Hartlepool MVC

It was a highly enjoyable concert and will stick in the memory, for sure. The rest of our Radcliffe gang would kick themselves had they known what they missed.

Ritchie Davies (Public Relations Officer), Radcliffe MVC

Excellent concert. It’s not difficult to see why Cantamus have been world choir. Choral perfection. Oh and Carlton were pretty good as well!!!………………………………………..Tremendous concert! Well done to all concerned.

John Pritchard, President, Bestwood MVC

Best £12.50 I ever spent – fab night with both choirs. The whole night was fantabulous and I could sit through it all again.

Carol Wheatley

The choir are sounding better than ever. Cantamus were absolutely brilliant and breathtakingly emotional. Matt Glendenning – what an accomplished performance. By far the best winner of the Musicians Trophy to date. Rogers accompaniment was faultless as usual. Well done Terry and ALL the choir. As most of you know I now live in Devon and came a long way to be there. WELL WORTH all the travel.

Sheila Jennings

Please pass on my congratulations to the choir after another superb concert, really well done everyone. It was good to see a few new members I do hope they enjoyed the experience of singing in such a lovely venue. The clarinettist was faultless, although not my favourite instrument, it was a lovely sound, he was outstanding,  and a well deserved winner of this year’s award. Of course the Cantamus girls are always extremely good, amazing voices and control for their age, with a very entertaining second half. Your organisation of the event runs so smoothly, you put in a lot of much appreciated hard work. …

Linda Davies

I just wanted to say thank you for a great concert.  It was wonderful. Can’t see it getting any better!  ’Stay with me til the morning’ was even better than usual with Matt playing too.  It was a lovely evening.

Kay Radford

A wonderful evening of fabulous voices tonight by both choirs, lovely to hear two choirs together.

Cantamus

It was an honour to solo in the Albert Hall with Carlton MVC this evening. Well done to all my Cantamus girlies. Smashing ladies.

Eilish McDonald

I wasn’t too struck on the start of the programme- But it just got better and BETTER and BETTER. The Award winner was brilliant and the second half of the concert was to die for! The joint pieces came over spine tinglingly beautiful. Many thanks to all concerned, very well done. …
